Hunniwell Shares Insights with UCLA BioDesign Program

May 27, 2020 ||  Hunniwell Lake Ventures Managing Partner Daniel Teo shares keen advice with the inaugural class of 2020 Fellows in the UCLA BioDesign Program in his presentation titled “Tales from the Other Side.” A  veteran medical device entrepreneur, innovator, and investor, Teo encourages the Fellows to take risks and brace for both the challenges and successes.

On May 27th, 2020, Hunniwell Lake Ventures Managing Partner Daniel Teo shared his insights with the Fellows from the inaugural class of the UCLA BioDesign Fellowship Program. The presentation titled “Tales from the Other Side” aimed to take a light-hearted look at “horror stories” from both sides of the fence in the course of a VC investment into startups. Hunniwell is privileged to be a part of this journey towards excellence.

The UCLA BioDesign Fellowship unites stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem to transform medicine through the development of novel technologies. The program works with industry partners and the medical community to advance solutions that deliver improved value and outcomes to patients worldwide.

In his presentation, Daniel shared advice with the Fellows. “As stewards of other people’s money, VCs face enormous pressures. … and some do not respond to it well. Every day lost is a fraction of an IRR shaved off a VC’s report card.”
